Discomfort in Knowing

To give some background, I am on partial financial aid with both a parent and student income contribution. My parents never wanted me to work a job that would not be fulfilling or beneficial for me and thus every time I was unable to take care of the cost of the student income contribution in full (which was essentially, every year), they would pay for the rest. They did this because they were paying so much money so that I could come to Yale and get an education. I was not here at Yale to get an on-campus job for the purpose of making money. Because of them, I was able to have that extra time to study for exams, to pursue extracurriculars, to hang out with friends, and to now work a job that I really enjoy! There is discomfort in knowing about this financial burden on my parents, and it definitely affects the way I spend money. However, out of all situations, mine is a fortunate one mostly because of the priorities my parents set.
