Overwhelming

Picture
I feel really lucky to go about my schedule uninhibited by extreme financial pressure or the need to log extra hours at work. Not having the weight of the student income contribution allows me to prioritize my homework, friends, and activities I do for fun. Sometimes, feeling overwhelmed by obligations can be pretty anxiety-inducing for me -- I can’t imagine what it would be like if on top of that, I had serious work constraints and the mental burden of the paying the contribution. Even within my friend groups and extracurriculars, I sometimes see divides between people who are limited by the contribution and people who aren’t, and this creates a blatant inequality. In order for students to properly pursue their interests and be free of the stress that accompanies this financial constraint, we need to get rid of the student income contribution.
