The Difference Divided Us

I’m not responsible for any student income contribution, but most of my suitemates this year and the past two years have been. This difference fairly clearly divided us by economic background, as they had to find an outside-of-school job pretty much every semester. This left them with much less time to experience extracurricular life at Yale. Even when I eventually decided to get an on-campus job, it felt like more of a choice for me than it was for my suitemates.
